  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 lb. unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 whole eggs\raw
  • 1/2 cup self raising flour
  • 1-1/2 tsps. powdered sugar, for garnish


  • Serves 8

Preheat oven to temperature 350°F Beat the American Almond Traditional Almond Paste with the sugar in an electric mixer. Add the butter and beat until fluffy. Beat in the eggs. Scrape the bowl, then fold in the baking powder, flour and vanilla. Fold in the dry fruit, if using any. Spread the batter into a greased 8"cake pan. Bake for 30-35 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean. Cool on a rack then unmold. Dust with powdered sugar to serve.
