Happy Birthday Julia Child!
Julia Child introduced French Cuisine and cooking techniques to the American mainstream. She reached the masses not only through her cookbooks, but most notably The French Chef which premiered in 1963. On August 15 her birthday is celebrated. In honor of Julia Child, Chefs.com is excited to highlight the recipe feature on her first show of her television series: Boeuf Bourguignon.

Grilled Roadside Whole Chicken with Knob Onions
Asparagus 

and Tomato Salad
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 45 minutes
 Ingredients
•1-1/2 Tbsps. ground ancho chile powder • 1 tsp. dried oregano, preferably Mexican
• A big pinch of cloves • 1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
• 2 garlic cloves • 3 Tbsps. vinegar
• 1/4 cup orange juice • 1 tsp. salt
• 1 large (3-pound) whole chicken • 2 large bunches green onions
• 1 cup Roasted Tomatillo salsa • A little vegetable oil for brushing the onions
 Instructions
In a small bowl, mix together all the marinade ingredients. Light a charcoal fire and let it burn until the charcoal is covered with white ash (and about medium hot); bank half the coals to one side of the grill, half to the other.

Salmon Yan's Warm Peanut Dessert Soup
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 15 minutes
 Ingredients
• 3/4 cup chunky peanut butter • 3-1/2 cups water
• 1/4 cup finely chopped unsalted peanuts • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
• 1 cup evaporated milk • 2 tsps. cornstarch dissolved in 1-tablespoon water
 Instructions
Place peanut butter in a medium saucepan. Add water, a little at a time, stirring until mixture is smooth. Stir in peanuts and brown sugar. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat; reduce heat and simmer, stirring once or twice, for 15 minutes.
